Hear Santa

A voice note from Santa, by name

Santa records a short message for your child, with their name and something kind from your diary.

What Santa says

Ho ho ho! Hello Lily, it's Santa! Mummy tells me you shared your sweets with Max this week, and the elves were so proud they rang a bell. Keep being kind, and I'll talk to you very soon. Merry Christmas!

Every child gets a free voice note from Santa

A sample for a child called Lily. Free once per child each season. Santa's voice is created by AI. When your child is ready to chat, the first Santa call is free (2 min).

How it works

From a kind moment to a call from Santa

You stay in charge at every step. Santa only knows what you tell him.

  1. Step 1: Note the kind things

Shared her toys? Tidied up without being asked? One tap adds a star, with a few words or a photo if you like.

The grown-ups' diary in the app: Lily has 52 stars this season, with Nice and Elf note buttons.
  2. Step 2: Watch the star jar fill

Your child sees every star drop into their own jar, with their elf helper cheering them on.

Lily's star jar in the app, full of gold stars, with Pip cheering: Hooray! 50 stars!
  3. Step 3: Ask Santa

Ask Santa to celebrate something, or to set a friendly challenge like tidying or bedtime. Nothing reaches him until you approve it.

The Ask Santa screen: a note for Santa and what Santa will hear, ready for a grown-up to approve.
  4. Step 4: Santa calls. You answer first.

Santa rings your phone and says hello to you. Then you pass the phone over, and he talks to your child by name.

The app's incoming call screen: Santa Claus, North Pole, is calling.

The diary

The diary is free. All of it.

No subscription, no ads, no catch. Everything in the diary costs £0.

Pip the Chief Elf

A star jar that fills up

Every kind moment drops a gold star into your child's jar. Milestones set off a little celebration. Try it for Lily.

6 stars in Lily's jar

Each child picks an elf helper for their jar:

  • Pip
  • Holly
  • Jingle
  • Snowdrop
  • Cocoa
  • Tinsel
  • Nutmeg
  • Frost
  • Pudding
  • Bramble
  • An elf note in the diary, marked as made up for.

Elf notes, never a naughty list

When things go wrong, jot an elf note just for you. When your child makes up for it, mark it as made up for. Nobody ends up on a naughty list.

  • What the elves saw in a photo of a tidy bedroom, and their suggested star.

    Photo star suggestions

Snap the tidy bedroom. The elves describe it in one line and suggest a star, and you decide. The photo itself is never kept.

  • Bonus stars in the app: None, +1, +2 or +3.

    Bonus stars

Something extra special? Add up to 3 bonus stars to a nice moment, and the jar counts every one.

  • The countdown in the app: 13 days, 7 hours, 15 minutes, 14 sleeps to go.

    Sleeps to Christmas

Santa's sleigh crosses the sky a little further every day. Count to Christmas Day, or to St Nicholas' Day or Three Kings' Day.

  • The red advent door from the app.

    Advent doors

A new door every day until Christmas Eve, with a joke or a fact from the elves behind it.

  • A glowing brass lantern.

    Bedtime elf report

At the time you choose, the elves show your child today's stars. Sweet dreams!

  • The Official Nice List parchment from the app.

    Nice List certificate

On Christmas Eve, a certificate with your child's name and star count, signed by Santa and ready to share.

  • The offer in the app: a free voice note from Santa for Lily.

Once your child has a few stars, Santa can record them a short message by name. Free, once per child each season.

Santa's call

And then, the phone rings.

Santa rings your phone and talks to you first. Then he asks for your child by name, and he already knows about their stars.

The app's incoming call screen: Santa Claus, North Pole, is calling. Grown-ups answer first, then pass the phone to Lily and Max.
  • Up to 6 minutes for each child, on every call
  • Brothers and sisters take turns. Santa asks you to pass the phone.
  • Santa speaks English, German, Spanish and Polish

LilyYes! It was blue everywhere.

Christmas Eve

Then, on Christmas Eve, Santa takes off

The Santa tracker: a globe with Santa's sleigh over Manila. He'll reach Bilston in about 7 hours. Time for bed soon!
Santa's sleigh phone: Santa is out on his sleigh. Listen to his message! With his words to read together.

Track Santa!

On the Santa tracker, your child watches his sleigh fly round the world on a globe, and sees when he'll reach your home. Time for bed soon!

Santa's sleigh phone

Santa is out on his sleigh, so he leaves a message for your child. Play it together, or read his words if the sound is off.

Live calls with Santa end at midday on Christmas Eve, so he can deliver presents. They'll be back next Christmas.

For grown-ups

Safe by design, not by promise.

Santa is an AI voice. We tell you that up front, and we built every part of the call around your child's safety.

  • You always answer first

Santa rings your phone and talks to you before he speaks to your child.

  • No personal questions

Santa never asks for an address, school or surname, and never asks a child to keep a secret.

  • Calls aren't recorded

You can read the transcript after each call. It's deleted automatically after 30 days.

  • Purchases behind your PIN

Children can't buy anything or change settings. Grown-ups pay; children never do.

  • No ads, ever

No adverts, no trackers and nothing sold on. The magic is the whole point.

  • Photos are never kept

A photo becomes one sentence for the diary, then it's deleted. It's never shown to Santa or anyone else.

  • Delete everything, whenever you like

One button in Settings removes your account, every diary and every call summary.

  • Kind words only

Santa celebrates and encourages. He never threatens, and every child ends on the Nice List.

  • Checked after every call

Each call is reviewed automatically, and the summary tells you if anything needs a gentle chat.

  • Built to the UK Children's Code
  • No ads
  • AI disclosed

FAQ

Questions grown-ups ask

Is Santa a real person?

No. Santa is an AI voice made for Elf Diary. We say so in the app and here, so you can decide how to share the magic with your child. A grown-up always answers Santa's call first.

What if my child goes shy?

Santa is patient, does most of the talking and asks easy questions. If your child goes quiet, he says a kind goodbye. You can stay right next to them on speaker.

Can I listen in?

Yes. Put the call on speaker and stay with your child. Afterwards you can read the transcript in the app. It's deleted automatically after 30 days.

Can Santa talk to all my children?

Yes. Brothers and sisters take turns in the same call, each with their own stars and stories. Santa asks you to pass the phone. Each child can talk for up to 6 minutes, and your children share your Santa minutes.

Does Santa promise presents?

Only if you tell him to. You can add gift hints to Santa's brief. Otherwise he says the elves will see what they can do.

How do Santa minutes work?

Your first Santa call is free (2 min), once per family. A Santa Pass adds 20 minutes, shared by all your children, for 12 months. It's one payment and doesn't renew. Need more? Add 5, 10, 25 or 60 minutes. Calls with no measured length cost nothing.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases are made in the app through the App Store or Google Play, so refunds follow their process. If a call doesn't connect, it has no measured length and costs nothing.

Which languages does Santa speak?

English, German, Spanish and Polish. You choose the language for each child when you add them.

What happens to my email if I join the waiting list?

We use it for one email, when Elf Diary launches. It's kept in our own mailing system, never shared, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

What happens on Christmas Eve?

Live calls with Santa end at midday on Christmas Eve, so he can deliver presents. After that, your child can follow his sleigh on the Santa tracker and listen to the message Santa leaves on his sleigh phone.
